CHECK THIS OUT.
Evening
world: News from me here. I have deduced from friends and personal interest
changes that the youth is sick of paying loads of money for activities and need
more internet fun than what Facebook and Twitter can give us (I ain’t hating).
First of all
for you lovely ladies and lads is a brilliant website filled with short,
artistic, funny films using a range of artistic video techniques, and is called
‘short of the week’ (links appear after each menu item). It’s great for
projects, inspiration or a good laugh at the end of a crap day.
Next on the
menu, happening this Friday at Zula Bar in town (Cape Town), is a flipping
insaaaane CD launch of a band called “Fore-front”, check out the Facebook link.
Only R30 entrance, and proves to be a night of pure awesome-ness. You clearly
hate yourself if you don’t attend. Also, check out the band’s website.
Thirdly,
People, is a fudging kickass website made by two of my closest guy friends that
showcases a sh**load of awesome things, ranging from new music, top youtube
vids, awesome new websites and controversial topics, as well as tons of
giveaways to the hottest parties and events in Cape Town. Their tagline is
“finding cool stuff for cool people”. Beyond legit. *Also particularly
enjoyable if you are of the male species (go see what I mean).
Finally,
last on our menu is a supercalafradgalisticexpealidocious event that occurs
regularly in Somerset West, Cape Town (I apologise to you non
South-Africans/Cape-Townians) called The Akelian Circus. This orgasmic regular showcases
local talent with a mix of tons of covers, from the band, of your favourite timeless
songs. Can anyone say Bryan Adams, “Summer of ‘69”. Yeah, I know it’s in your
head now. Unfortunately they have no website but go follow their Twitter page
and Facebook page to see when the next Akelian Circus is. It’s an amazing
‘jol’, it’s inexpensive and you meet gloriously wonderful people. Like Nike,
just do it.
Peace peeps.

In Correlation to my previous post. The truth:
What do men and women really want?
“Women want EVERYTHING. Men want you to feed them, screw
them and then shut up”-Chris Rock.
Okay so fair enough, that may be the case for some people
but after having gone through a few reeeeally rough break-ups, I decided it’s
time for us all to cut the crap and start communicating. I want to know what
men want. And no, this isn’t a rendition
of “What Women Want” with Mel Gibson. That was way too Disney. I want it raw,
the uncut story. And guys want to know about us just as much as we want to know
about them! My theory is that if more women were ready to get off their
fairy-tale high-horses and were willing to do a few things men wanted, men
would be much more willing to comply with a few of the things on the set-list
of what women want (and yes boys, for the majority of us there is a set-list of
a few things). So in search of something real, I asked both my guy and
girlfriends to give me some insight. Results came up as follows:
Guy #1: “I want intimacy” (Kudos to him, not many guys would
be honest about that).
Girl #1: “Real time spent on foreplay” (Okay boys this is a
big one, we are no longer in high school so please do yourself and partner a
favour and learn some proper foreplay tricks).
Girl #2: “A bad boy who is only good for me”. Let me know if
there’s a store we can order from.
Girl #3: “Sex that is good on a physical AND emotional
level.” (This one is probably my favourites, so many women are afraid to say
they love sex as much as men do).
Guy #2 and Girl #4: “Communication, otherwise we can’t
fulfil our partners’ needs”. Word.
Guy #3: “I wish girls were more uninhibited in the bedroom,
I promise, I am not looking at your stretchmarks”. Marry me?
Okay so there you have it kids, a little insight from guys
and gals between 18-23. It may not solve all my problems and certainly not
yours, but at leeeast we have a better idea about what is actually going on in
the other person’s head. I’m off to find me a man or at least dream of one.
Blog soon. Love x.
Some culture for the cravings.
DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee, | 5 |
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.
Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell, | 10 |
And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,
And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then;
One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die. |
DATE NIGHT BEHBEHHH.
Bored of the
same routine with your significant other? Need a new activity to reignite the
excitement? Here is a list of things for you and your man/ lady to do together
that range between fun, cheap, classy, sexy and adventurous. As couples you
should want to challenge each other instead of slipping into a habit, although
couch-potato Friday is a favourite of mine. Enjoy:
1. Try live entertainment, such as a band at a local
bar, instead of a movie. It’s funny (especially if its karaoke) and it almost
always has a vibe.
2. Bubble bath for two. Candles. Wine. Need we say
more? If you are feeling extra romantic, throw in some bath oils for bath-time
massages.
3. Take a dinner cruise: The motion of the ocean sets
off sensuous signals inside us (think water beds). Even if you can’t do dinner,
a late afternoon ride to Robben Island of sorts will have the same effect.
4. Cleavage is nice. Very nice: Bump it up a notch
with a push-up bra, a scoop-neck top and an eye-catching necklace. Remind your
man of the junk in your trunk (sorry for the crass remark).
5. Museums usually have one free day/night a week, so
hit one then. Even if you aren’t arty or intrigued by historical monuments go
have a look anyway, it’s always good to learn something new or maybe
sarcastically rip-off a piece you find offensive or striking. Be open-minded!
6. Head to the highest point in town. Spend an early
evening watching the twinkling lights turn on. Can anyone say Signal Hill?
7. Head to an ice skating rink and strap on skates for
some icy fun. Grand West is especially awesome and it’s a great bonding
exercise to help with trust, intuition between partners and letting loose. If
you fall, it’s hilarious most of the time and there is a baby rink if you find
the large rink too intimidating. If you do find yourself in the baby rink,
don’t be surprised when you find yourself surrounded by 5year olds.
8. Poke around an antique shop. It’s exciting, funny
(you get to see the crap your grandparents may have collected) and it is
enlightening; also often very beautiful.
9. Get up and move: Try swing dancing, tangoing or
square dancing. Dancing has been known to strengthen the bond between couples
as you learn about each other’s bodies on a new level. This will also
contribute to a healthier, stronger sex life.
10. Hit a hiking trail near you. Don’t worry about the
sweatiness or tourist-like clothing. It’s about comfort and experience. These
hiking trails also make for beautiful lunches in the forests and great
photographs.
Enjoy
kids, blog soon. Love x.
For a Lover.
Okay so I was fervently in love with a man not too long ago, and was inspired to write a piece of him, ignited by the image/quote in this post. Here goes, let the heart-pouring pour:
Eyes that, with a glance, caress my
soul and transcend what human touch is capable of.
A kiss that ignites me from within to
permeate outwards radiates brighter than the warmest sun of Summer.
Gently, huskily, like velvet he rolls
out the sound of each word that spills over like honey and tinges the air with
sweetness.
An absolutely encapsulating cocoon of
warmth, with each tickle and brush of his skin against mine-orgasmic.
Electrifyingly blue, I find myself
lost in his gaze and yet ever so content in my wonder and disorientation.
Breathtakingly beautiful, he strums
his guitar and I find the moves he is making imprint deeper upon my heart.
He smiles and laughs at me, with me
and inside of me; I follow, strung along by his mystery with an insatiable need
to be a part of his existence.
With every glance, touch and word
spoken, I feel propelled towards him, the dream, and away from the darkness
that had become all too familiar.
